De Friesland Zorgverzekeraar live met Microsoft Dynamics AX
Zaltbommel, 18 March 2010 -
De Friesland Zorgverzekeraar (The Friesland Health Insurer), an independent quality health insurer, has been live with the financial section of the ERP-system Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009. Qurius is currently working very hard on the implementation of this system at the corporate bodies in charge of the financial settlements of the health and travel insurances. Going live of this stage has been planned for October 2010. A big advantage of this system is the increasing flexibility of the collection system.
Health care claims by means of Dynamics AX
During the first stage, all financial processes of the central corporate body, the Cooperative, were transferred to Dynamics AX, while the accounts of the other corporate bodies have been scheduled for the second stage. As soon as this stage has been realised, the payments of the health care and travel claims of all 500,000 persons insured will take place by means of Dynamics AX. Decreasing the maintenance costs of Friesland Zorgverzekeraar’s self-developed software by opting for a standard solution, increasing their reliability and creating a solid basis for management information were the main reasons to switch to Dynamics AX.
Flexibility collection system
The monthly invoicing, executed in Microsoft Dynamics AX, includes about two million invoice rules, of which a large part is automatically collected. A big advantage of the new solution is the increasing flexibility of the collection system, as it offers the Friesland Zorgverzekeraar the possibility to sooner collect or refund alterations in the insurance premiums. This will definitely please the customer, since the consequences of a policy alteration will be clear much quicker. Moreover, it will be possible to further increase the flexibility of the time of the collection, by offering the customer the possibility to pay his premium on any day of the month, for instance. This will ensure an improvement of the Friesland Zorgverzekeraar’s cash flow.
Theo Poortinga, Head Service Centre, about the choice of Dynamics AX: “Our confidence in the solution was gained after Qurius’ proof of concept with our collection system. Since this determines our turnover, an essential condition was that this system had to work well in Dynamics AX.”
Rob Feenstra, Financial, ICT and Facility Manager: “So far the collaboration with Qurius has been going very well. We are no talkers, but doers, and I recognise this trait in the employees of Qurius. With an eye to the future, we are aware that the health and insurance markets are increasingly liberalizing,” concludes Feenstra. “So, as a health insurer you run more risks and need to anticipate any changes in the market. By taking in Dynamics AX, we now dispose of a system that will support us dealing with these changes.”
